Instagram welcomes subscriptions

The social network is undergoing exclusive changes for content creators


Instagram has just announced the implementation of subscriptions in the social network. This feature will allow users to pay a monthly fee to get exclusive content from creators. Along with this, it opens a door for content generators to benefit from said payment as a source of labor income, which, as far as is known, would be a monthly payment.

The news was released through a public statement hosted on the Instagram blog. Meta, who is the mother company of the social network, indicated that the idea of facilitating income in the social network through the tool.

“With Instagram subscriptions, creators can strengthen their connection with their most loyal followers and grow their monthly recurring income, giving their subscribers exclusive access to content and benefits, all within the platform they already interact with” , expressed the social network through its statement.

Starting January 19, a group of content creators in the United States will be able to learn about and test the “Subscribe” button in their account profiles. Thanks to this, the creator's followers will be able to access exclusive content, such as broadcasts, stories, lives, etc. And in the meantime, creators will be able to give recognition to their subscribed followers with a virtual medal.

Some of the content creators who are already known to have such an option include @alanchikinchow, @sedona._, @alizakelly, @kelseylynncook, @elliottnorris, @jordanchiles, @jackjerry, @bunnymichael, @donalleniii, and @lonnieiiv.

As the tool iterates in its user experience and adherence phases, the other countries will be able to enable the option. The social network also indicated that it will not charge any percentage until 2023.
